Last Sunday was an unforgettable day at ICOC Nakuru a beautiful celebration filled with vibrant worship, deep fellowship, and profound gratitude.
For a long time, the congregation had hoped to host the Arsenal Fans Kenya (Nakuru Branch). Though initial invitations did not bear fruit right away, the church remained hopeful. When the fans first visited a while back, it was an encouraging encounter, and they promised they would return. On Sunday, 24th May 2026, that promise was beautifully fulfilled. The church was absolutely delighted to welcome them back, this time in much larger numbers, making the occasion truly special.
The sermon for the day focused on the core of the Christian faith: Discipleship its foundations, challenges, and ultimate benefits. The preacher brilliantly wove in examples involving Arsenal Football Club and its dedicated fanbase, making the message incredibly practical, engaging, and relatable for everyone in attendance. The visitors did not just spectate; they actively immersed themselves in the praise and worship, lifting the atmosphere into a joyful chorus of thanksgiving.
Among the many highlights of the day was a powerful testimony from one of the visiting ladies. She shared that she had willingly forfeited KSh 2,500 money she had already paid for a planned trip just so she could attend this thanksgiving service instead. Her sacrifice and commitment to worship served as a moving reminder to the entire congregation of what it truly means to put God first.
The members of the Arsenal Fans Nakuru branch expressed how deeply encouraged they were by the word, and the congregation, in turn, was equally inspired by their faith, energy, and enthusiasm.
Following the service, the fellowship continued over shared refreshments. Over cups of porridge, sweet potatoes, biscuits, and soda, the attendees enjoyed meaningful conversations and laughter before the guests departed to continue their celebrations and enjoy lunch together.
What a spectacular day! The church gives all the glory to God for making this special Sunday possible and for granting the privilege of hosting the Arsenal Fans Kenya (Nakuru Branch) once again. There is great anticipation for many more days of fellowship ahead.
